HOW DOES SCIOLINK WORK?

The comfort of examinees during tests is our top priority

Using ScioLink doesn’t cause additional stress

Our user friendly interface and examinee support assures that the already demanding test-taking process is as seamless as possible.

01
Offline mode

Our offline mode ensures that exams are not failed due to internet outages.

02
Privacy

We do not share exam recordings with any third parties, including the exam institution.

03
Fairness

Due to clear rules, all examinees have the same conditions when taking the exam.

04
No life monitoring

The human evaluator assesses the exam recordings only when it is completed, not while the examinee is taking the exam.

05
No notifications

The exam will be taken without any interruptions, no application notifications will disturb you during the exam.

We take privacy seriously

Our key priority is security, including that of your data. That is why we stick to the following rules during exams.

01
Data protection

We minimize the amount of data and personal information that needs to be processed in order to assess exam irregularities. For example, you can blur information on your ID that is not needed for identification purposes.

02
Continuity and security

We don’t interfere with your computer. We won’t quit any running applications however, we can monitor your activity, and if you use forbidden applications and services, your exam can be marked as irregular.

03
Human evaluators

Even if your exams are evaluated using artificial intelligence (AI), a human evaluator has the final say on whether cheating has occurred. At least two independent human evaluators always decide about exam regularity.

04
Protecting your privacy

Although we use modern technologies, we never collect or use biometric data.

EXAM

How does it work?

Preparation for testing

The precise exam process can vary and is configured by the exam organizer (typically a faculty or university). The process is usually as follows:

One to two weeks before the exam, you will be given access to the ScioLink application.

Several days before the exam you go through onboarding, which allows you to check whether you comply with the minimum technical requirements as well as to familiarize yourself with the test application environment.

02
After checking for the minimum technical requirements, you may be asked to install the Proctoring Desktop extension. This extension monitors active processes and devices on your computer.
04
Once the exam is handed in, all monitoring automatically ends. The Proctoring Desktop extension will terminate on its own.
01
At the start of every exam, ScioLink will check your webcam, microphone, and internet connection speed.
03
You will then take a picture of your face, your ID and record a video of your room.
05
During the entire exam you will see the video being recorded.
